How do you treat a wound on a dog?
Minor pet wounds can be treated by washing the affected area with clean water, applying a pet-safe antibacterial ointment and carefully wrapping with a bandage until you can take them to the vet to be looked at. Bigger wounds can be bandaged to slow bleeding and help prevent infections, but your dog should be taken to a vet immediately for treatment.
How do I take care of my dogs skin?
Regular maintenance is important for keeping your dog's skin healthy. This includes applying regular flea and tick prevention treatments, as well as balms and barrier creams for their nose and paws. Some dogs may also suffer from dry skin and may need a pet safe moisturiser, or sun cream if they are prone to getting burns during the hotter months.
